Photo-a-day: Day 1 | Skagit County Children’s Photographer

August 22, 2009

I looked at my baby today and realized she is not a baby anymore. Time is racing and as much I want to reign it in, I know I can’t.  So, I want to try and freeze those little moments with my photos.  All too often, I try for the “perfect” shot…when really it is the little moments that tug at my heart.

I was inspired to take on the Photo-a-Day challenge by a friend and fellow photographer.  I hope that the little moments I capture of my sweet Maddy bring a smile to your face and remind you to pick up your own camera and capture the simple, everyday joys of childhood.

So, for the next 30 days I will be posting a photo of Miss Maddy each day.  Her world.  The joys, the smiles, the fun and maybe even the fits  (she’s almost 2 remember?)

Day 1 – running around in her footie jammies.  Oh, how  I love the footies… I wish she would never outgrow them. I love the chubby little toddler bodies squeezed in and zipped up tight.   Snuggly and warm…

Jenny Babcock: Ok, I am an emotional wreck! I am tearing up over this one! Love it! I soo love the footed jammies!

Jessica Deane: love this idea! Wonderful Mel, I cant wait to see what all you capture!

Christina: I always look forward to new pics from you. I can't wait to see them everyday now. You are very talented!

Kristen Cook: So glad to see you doing this Melissa - it's the best thing I have done all year and Mia's album is such a treasure to me now. Enjoy!

Kerianne Brown: Real moments captured are the best. You have such a gift and what better way to showcase that than to photograph the most beautiful subjects in your life. They are miracles and enrich your lives and should be celebrated. Can't wait to follow this! As an aside, my husband tells me all the time he wishes he could find footed pj's for himself... Hahaha. One of his favorite childhood memories and, look at you, you have it captured forever for little Miss M.

Brea: Oh Mel! I love all the pics and what a great idea! I might have to do something like this with my kids. They're growing up WAY too fast.
