I’ve been waiting for him for 10 months now! Little Jesse is sweet baby boy of my beautiful friend Wendy.  He is beyond perfect… so squishy and new.    I can’t wait to watch him grow up  in this house of girls  and teach his momma just what it’s like to be the mother of a son.  Trust me, W… it’s a whole new ballgame!

Congrats again, guys!  xoxo

Oh, I’m horrible at this! I am so behind in posting. I’ve even missed a day of photos. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to get a photo taken, edited and posted on the blog each day.  I’m not going to promise a daily photo… maybe I need to change it to a Photo-a-Week Challenge!  I do have some moments that I really want to capture so I am going to try and keep up as best as I can.

This is a daily occurrence in our house.  Apparently, Maddy thinks spoons are highly overrated.

Because big brothers are so funny…

Yes,  it’s true… she loves Starbucks.  After our playdate this morning, I look back to see a very happy Miss Maddy enjoying her little smoothie treat.  There are so many things I love about this “technically imperfect” shot.   Her big giggly grin, the elbow dimples, and those chubby little baby feet…

I looked at my baby today and realized she is not a baby anymore. Time is racing and as much I want to reign it in, I know I can’t.  So, I want to try and freeze those little moments with my photos.  All too often, I try for the “perfect” shot…when really it is the little moments that tug at my heart.

I was inspired to take on the Photo-a-Day challenge by a friend and fellow photographer.  I hope that the little moments I capture of my sweet Maddy bring a smile to your face and remind you to pick up your own camera and capture the simple, everyday joys of childhood.

So, for the next 30 days I will be posting a photo of Miss Maddy each day.  Her world.  The joys, the smiles, the fun and maybe even the fits  (she’s almost 2 remember?)

Day 1 – running around in her footie jammies.  Oh, how  I love the footies… I wish she would never outgrow them. I love the chubby little toddler bodies squeezed in and zipped up tight.   Snuggly and warm…

We are all so lucky to live in this great country.  Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve for our freedom.

Wishing you all a happy and safe 4th of July.  As someone who lost a friend to drinking and driving on this weekend 17 years ago, please be safe out there on the roads.  ♥
Happy 4th everyone!

Thankful…

June 12, 2009

for sprinklers on hot days.

for babies sleeping so sweetly in the car.

for brothers and sisters.

for big grins and belly laughs.

for a snapshot of me with my babies.

Life is full of so many simple joys. Enjoy them. Treasure them. Remember them because they will be grown before you know it.

Back Up and Running…

June 7, 2009

Ok, I am hoping this is the last post like this. My site is back and running. Galleries are all visible and my client site is available as well. Whew! Again, a big thanks to my hosting company for getting things going again over the weekend.

If any of my fabulous clients ever happen upon my website and notice an error message, please shoot me an email and let me know. I don’t visit my site all that often and it can be days before I discover it’s down. I’d really appreciate the heads up if you happen to notice! Thanks so much!

…and We’re Back!

June 3, 2009

I had a little hiccup with my website and client site this morning! So, apologies to anyone trying to view galleries or check pricing. Thanks to my wonderful website hosts, we are back up and running!

Sorry for any inconvenience. Sometimes, I really do hate computers! ugh!

Ok, so I know it’s been a few weeks since my last Fashion Friday. But this one was worth the wait, I promise. If you haven’t discovered Etsy, you don’t know what you have been missing. Etsy is a bit like Ebay, except everything for sale is handmade by the seller. It is FABULOUS! Not only are you supporting people who are making these goods out of their homes, but everything I have purchased has been outstanding quality. And it’s not just clothes, Etsy has everything handmade you can think of! Go check it out. click here for Etsy

I dressed Maddy in some of her wonderful Etsy pieces and took her out in our backyard for a little mini shoot. I just love the layering in this outfit. When dressing your little ones, think layers and textures. This outfit has velvet pants, a sweet cotton pillowcase dress and a handknit cable knit sweater coat – all from Etsy.

Here are some of my favorite Etsy sellers. But there are so many more! Search for things like vintage, boutique, retro and you will see. :)
