Before every session, I ask my clients to tell me something about themselves and what they would like to have me capture during their session.  When I read Susan’s answer, I knew I would love every minute of our session.   I hope you don’t mind me sharing here, Susan.  But your words are exactly what I want people to have after our time together… photographs of their family that capture their hearts.

“Matt and I are best friends.  Very very much in love.  We always have a good time together and with our wonderful kids. LOTS of love and fun is what we would like to have captured. Kind of like our everyday life.”

Thanks so much for such a fun evening, Susan and Matt. Your family is beautiful!

We’ve had this session planned for almost a year.  Somehow, each time we were set to do it something would inevitably interfere.  Life with kids is always unpredictable that way!  I finally got to meet up with this fun family whom I have known for many years. In fact, we were neighbors long before any of us had children and Mom and I taught together for seven years before I had Will.  It was so fun to meet up and be able to photograph their amazing kids.   We ran, played, and jumped and I will admit I was a bit worn out at the end of the night… but it was so worth it…

I am so glad we were finally able to meet up, Kerri and Roger.  Your kids are so much fun and it was great seeing you all again.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I always knew what it FELT like to love my family,

Now I know what it LOOKS like.

When I look at these images, I smile. They make my heart happy.  This family opened up, relaxed and let me capture their love in a very honest way.   The session was over so quickly I found myself wondering on my drive home if I had ‘missed’ something.  Did I capture it all???  And when I opened the images on my computer, I saw the most beautiful love right there staring back at me.  Photographers know that feeling – the heart races a bit and you can’t wait to begin editing the images because you know you got “it”.

I have written about following my heart recently, and that is exactly what this session is to me… a session full of heart.  You will not see a carefully posed or stiffly positioned family.  I hope what you see is emotion, feeling… love.  Because I know that when I look back on the photos of my family, I want to  feel something.   I want to see and feel who we were and how we loved at that very moment in time…

And not only does this family have a whole lotta heart, they also have a lotta soul….

Thank you, Jacqui and Antonio.  I can’t even begin to tell you what a pleasure it was to meet you and photograph your beautiful family.  Your children are not only gorgeous but just so incredibly sweet. I hope you enjoy your photos and I will be in touch very soon….

This is the third time I have had the pleasure of photographing sweet Miss Josey.  She has grown so much!  We had so much fun looking for bunnies during the session and were lucky enough to see quite a few!  After almost every photo she would ask, “Where are da bunnies?” in the sweetest little voice. I swear she has an English accent! I could have listened to her chatter all day.  Such an adorable little girl.

We made time to capture some family moments… always a favorite of mine!

One of my favorites of the night….I took a similar shot last year when she was just two… her piggy tails have grown so much!   Take a peek at last year’s session here.

Thank you so much, Katy and Jess for bringing Josey to see me again! She is such a sweet little miss. I enjoyed bunny hunting with her so much!

to be this cute!   Little Elise had the biggest blue eyes I have ever seen and they just sparkled when she smiled. I absolutely love 1 year olds.  Just learning to walk, so curious, and full of smiles.

Thank you so much, Jenn and Marc for bringing your sweet little girl all this way to see me.  Your family is just adorable!

This was actually the 5th time I have had the pleasure of  photographing Miss Anna.   She was one of my very first newborn clients.  It’s such a privilege to watch these little ones grow up into smiling, singing toddlers and be able to capture their ever changing personalities.   Anna warmed up to me quickly and  was all smiles when she performed “I’m a Little Teapot”… so cute!

I think it is so important for mommies to be in photos with their children.  We are so often the ones behind the camera and miss out on being in those special photos.  I love the moments we captured between mommy and her baby girl.

Thank you Darcy and Troy for asking me to photograph your sweet Anna once again. She was such a joy and definitely embraced her inner model!

It was so nice to actually be able to get outside for a session this weekend! Rain forced us to reschedule it once but I think it was meant to be. We had a beautiful evening on Saturday!  This little guy was so full of smiles.  Two year olds always make me work a little harder because they are very seldom “still” but the payoff is so worth it!  Guess it’s a good excuse for skipping my workout on those days, right? :)

Thanks so much for sharing sweet Mason with me, Jenny and Brandon!

And just a quick scheduling note… I will be opening up my summer calendar for booking in the next few days.  I am getting caught up on rescheduled sessions and once that is done – we will start booking!  Please remember, space is limited and I do tend to fill up quickly.   So make sure to contact me early if you would like a session this summer.  Looking forward to seeing many of you soon!

While I know the rain brings lush green grass and flowers,  it has also left me with several canceled sessions.  Hopefully the weekend will bring blue skies for us and I’ll be able to post some new sessions soon.   I will begin scheduling my summer sessions very soon!

Happy Easter!

April 3, 2010

Here are a few of my little lady in her Easter dress.  Too bad it was so dreadfully cold the day we shot these.  She had to wear her little jacket to keep from freezing.  Come on spring!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter spent with the ones you love.

Little Farah (oh how I love her name!) and her family braved some serious March winds for this session. What was forecasted to be a lovely afternoon, turned into a blustery day much more like November than late March.  I thought March was supposed to go out like a lamb!

This sweet little miss gave me some beautiful smiles despite the breeze.  She has such big beautiful eyes and I love how the wind caught her hair.

All smiles on Mommy’s shoulder…

A little game of Peek-a-Boo…

Thank you for a fun session and for sharing sweet Farah with me.  She is such a little beauty! I will be in touch soon…
