Bye-Bye Baby
May 19, 2010I packed up her onesies today. She has completely outgrown them. Actually, she outgrew them months ago but I had been putting off getting rid of them. I was still putting them on her under her jammies at night – stretching them tightly over her diaper to snap them. There is something about a white onesie that is the epitome of babyhood to me. The white cotton, the chubby little baby legs exposed, and the way those little tiny snaps make that “tinkling” sound in the dryer. I remember bringing Will home and lying on the couch with him while listening to the sounds of the snaps in the dryer as his tiny little clothes tumbled about. That was 6 years ago, when I was still breathing in the moments of new motherhood.
The music of the snaps has been replaced by running feet, silly songs and contagious giggles. And while I embrace these moments of childhood, it is still hard to let go of the baby days…

May 18, 2010to be this cute! Little Elise had the biggest blue eyes I have ever seen and they just sparkled when she smiled. I absolutely love 1 year olds. Just learning to walk, so curious, and full of smiles.
Thank you so much, Jenn and Marc for bringing your sweet little girl all this way to see me. Your family is just adorable!

May 13, 2010This was actually the 5th time I have had the pleasure of photographing Miss Anna. She was one of my very first newborn clients. It’s such a privilege to watch these little ones grow up into smiling, singing toddlers and be able to capture their ever changing personalities. Anna warmed up to me quickly and was all smiles when she performed “I’m a Little Teapot”… so cute!
I think it is so important for mommies to be in photos with their children. We are so often the ones behind the camera and miss out on being in those special photos. I love the moments we captured between mommy and her baby girl.
Thank you Darcy and Troy for asking me to photograph your sweet Anna once again. She was such a joy and definitely embraced her inner model!

May 10, 2010It was so nice to actually be able to get outside for a session this weekend! Rain forced us to reschedule it once but I think it was meant to be. We had a beautiful evening on Saturday! This little guy was so full of smiles. Two year olds always make me work a little harder because they are very seldom “still” but the payoff is so worth it! Guess it’s a good excuse for skipping my workout on those days, right?
Thanks so much for sharing sweet Mason with me, Jenny and Brandon!
And just a quick scheduling note… I will be opening up my summer calendar for booking in the next few days. I am getting caught up on rescheduled sessions and once that is done – we will start booking! Please remember, space is limited and I do tend to fill up quickly. So make sure to contact me early if you would like a session this summer. Looking forward to seeing many of you soon!
