Archive for March, 2010

Little Farah (oh how I love her name!) and her family braved some serious March winds for this session. What was forecasted to be a lovely afternoon, turned into a blustery day much more like November than late March.  I thought March was supposed to go out like a lamb!

This sweet little miss gave me some beautiful smiles despite the breeze.  She has such big beautiful eyes and I love how the wind caught her hair.

All smiles on Mommy’s shoulder…

A little game of Peek-a-Boo…

Thank you for a fun session and for sharing sweet Farah with me.  She is such a little beauty! I will be in touch soon…

Yes, another post about song lyrics!  Lately, there have been some amazing songs that I really love and at the top of my playlist is “American Honey” by Lady Antebellum.    Not only is the song beautiful, but so is the video.  See and hear it HERE (after the Geico ad… which did make me laugh!)

Haven’t you ever had those moments when you wish you could go back to the sweeter time?  The simpler days of childhood. Barefoot in the grass, riding your bike on a warm summer day, your summertime crush… go back to American honey.

There’s a wild, wild whisper
Blowing in the wind
Calling out my name like a long lost friend
Oh I miss those days as the years go by
Oh nothing’s sweeter than summer time
And American honey

My sweet girl, may you grow up slow and sweet – just like American honey.

The knit dress is from a pattern by Kyoko at Cotton and Cloud. Her patterns are gorgeous!

You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed
Sing like bird, dizzy in my head
Spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile

-from “Smile” by Uncle Kracker (yes, I just quoted a Kracker song)

Every day, these beautiful little people make me smile.  I am one lucky momma.

This sweet little girl made her mommy and daddy wait a few extra weeks for her.  But the best things in life are definitely worth the wait.

She is absolutely gorgeous, Hailey and Jake.   Thanks so much for asking me to capture her early days.

I got to meet up with this sweet couple this week for their maternity session.   I was so excited to see a gorgeous field behind their home.  I am already dreaming of taking their sweet little newborn out there when he or she arrives.  Fingers crossed for some lovely weather on the day of the sesssion!

and the field….

I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, Rhea! Not long to go now until your sweet little one arrives.   I’m already looking forward to our next session!

We got a chance to get out and enjoy the nice weather this weekend for Kellen’s senior photo session.  This great guy was at ease in front of the camera and made my job easy right from the start.   I have so many favorites from this session. Here are just a few…

Kim and Kellen – thanks for such a great time this weekend.  You were a natural, Kellen!  I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek and I’ll have the rest to you soon.

~ Melissa

We took advantage of the gorgeous weather and made a quick trip to the daffodil fields this evening.   They are blooming a little early this year thanks to our warm weather and the tulips are not far behind! The sweet little sweater Maddy is wearing is from a pattern by the very talented Kyoko of Cotton and Cloud. I will be showcasing some of her other lovely designs later this week here on the blog.
